Céline Fellay recently joined Sitech, where her work is fully dedicated to Brightsite. Céline worked over 13 years at DSM in different shared R&D units. Céline is excited to put all her experience and energy into supporting the activities of the program ‘Transition scenarios and system integration’. She will be working closely together with Program Manager René Slaghek. Together with the aim of realizing the transition for a site like Chemelot in a safe, sustainable and economically sound way.
Before joining Sitech and Brightsite, Céline worked over 13 years at DSM in different shared R&D units. After her PhD in Chemistry/Catalysis at EPFL (École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne) Switzerland she joined DSM in 2008. There she supported different business units, investigating alternative routes to produce melamine and caprolactam and leading the research activities related to diaminobutane for DSM Engineering Materials, contributing among others to the successful commercialization of intermediate products and the debottlenecking of the plant. More recently, her research activities focused on competence building and new grades development of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene for Dyneema. Next to Céline’s scientific and project management activities, she fulfilled a team lead role for different R&D teams within DSM Materials Science Center, hereby contributing to the development of the department.
Altogether a great addition to the Brightsite team and a warm welcome to Céline. The Climate Agenda and the Climate Agreement aim for an energy transition and a fully circular economy by 2050. The chemical industry has an important part to play in this. Brightsite’s program line 5, ‘Transition scenarios and system integration’, looks at how to realize this transition for an entire site like Chemelot in a safe, sustainable and economically sound way.
